COLORECTAL CANCER SCREENING CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Everyone aged 50 to 74 should be screened for colorectal cancer regularly. Most cases of colorectal cancer occur in people age 50 and over. About 1 in 13 men and 1 in 16 women in Alberta will develop colorectal cancer in their lifetime. Colorectal cancer is the #2 cancer killer in Alberta for men and women combined. Colorectal cancer can grow and exist for some time without any symptoms. Screening is the only way to detect colorectal cancer early when 90% of cases can be prevented or treated successfully
