BREAST CANCER SCREENING CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Every women 50 to 69 should have a screening mammogram at least every two years. The risk of breast cancer increases as women get older. About 1 in 8 women in Alberta will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. Women 40 to 49 and 70 and over should talk to their healthcare provider about their need for screening mammograms. Screening mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when treatment may work better.
